So back in June 2016 when ZTE came with the Axon 7, we were all blown away and couldn’t wait for the next model in the 2017.  Well…that didn’t work out so well.  They never came with a new model for the US market, and pretty much sold all of the inventory and moved on it seems.  Or did they?

The coming years would appear to show us how ZTE as company felt about their customers, who wanted a ‘flagship’ phone again.  They only released phones that were considered ‘mid-tier’ or budget phones, landing only on prepaid carriers it seems.  It would go on like this for the next 3 years, until now…folks.  Here is the NEW long awaited, ZTE Axon 10 Pro.

This is one beautiful phone, and I’ve enjoyed using it everyday.  It is a HUGE step up from the previous Axon 7 in many way, and competes very well with today’s market.  Let’s talk some of the obvious specs.

  • 8GB/256GB or 12GB/256G (regions vary) w/SD Card
  • Dual SIM support

  • Face unlock
  • 48mp main camera f1.7 (wide)
  • 8mp f2.4 (telephoto)
  • 20mp f2.2 (ultrawide)
  • 20mp f2.0 Front camera
  • 4000mAh Battery
  • Snapdragon 855 Processor

WOW…now that is a lot of phone for the price.  RIGHT?  YES! That should be the only answer you return with, and it is surely more than you are getting on most other phones in the US market.

This is how you make a comeback when you were counted out, and there is no one that can deny this one.  At $600, this is one of the BEST if not the best offering out right now. This what you call amazing value to the consumer, and it’s something that they have been able to accomplish over the years.  They didn’t bring it when they should have, but we have to move on now.  It’s 2019, and ZTE has arrived.  AGAIN!

Now where can the phone use some improvement?  4k Video, it is just not the best indoors where I would use it the most.  I know a lot of you would say you record outside, but I like to shoot video indoors for vlogs…and this phone doesn’t look too good in that area right now. I know most people might shoot in 1080p, but I like to at least be able to do 4k on the go when I can.  Also, the phone as it sits right now, does NOT do 60fps recording in any of the video shooting modes.

With that being said, it is truly amazing at 1080p, and wide angle video. I mean, WOW factor.  I like that I can change to a wide angle video, without stopping the video.  This is a huge plus if you are in a space where you might need to move between the two options, this phone can do it.  Photos and video are absolutely amazing…and all I can keep thinking about is the price of this phone.  Take a look below.

I’ve got a full walk through of the phone below, and I hope you enjoy it.  The bottom line is, I’ll be covering more on this phone soon…so stay tuned.  For now, check out my first impressions and setup below.  More to come.
